ATHENS (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Kostas Kaimakoglou was recognized for his superlative play on Sunday for Maroussi against Olympiacos by being named MVP of Week 15.

Fresh off being honored as the MVP for the Month of January, the Greece international had 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in leading Maroussi to an 82-74 win over the Reds to leave both sides 13-2 - just one win behind Panathinaikos at the top of the Greek domestic standings.

The 2.04m Kaimakoglou said upon receiving the award: "For me the biggest prize is the recognition and respect the team receives from ordinary fans.

"And I am glad that all this positive atmosphere is helping us play with even more enthusiasm. I have to insist that an individual title in a team effort reflects the teamwork, but I must express a disagreement.

"I would have given the title to Jamon Lucas. He was fantastic, giving us energy on defense and offense while recently playing with discomfort in the foot."

Lucas was indeed fantastic against Olympiacos with 14 points, nine assists and five steals.

Kaimakoglou, who is hoping to represent Greece for the second straight summer when they compete at the 2010 FIBA World Championship, received 61 points and Lucas was second with 42.

Third-six media representatives took part in the voting.
