Biography

Like Chauncey Billups, Chandler played for the USA in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship and it remains an unforgettable experience for him to this day.

“When I did it, it was one of the most exciting moments of my career,” he explained.

“It's an incredible opportunity.

Whenever you can explain to your kids that you played for the USA team, it's a wonderful achievement.”

In 2008, he came close to making the Olympic team, being one of the last players cut. But he’s ready to give it another go.

“We wanted to get some extra big guys,” Colangelo said of Chandler.

Team USA needs size and shot-blocking.

Chandler can provide both and has proven so in nine-year career in Chicago, New Orleans and Charlotte by averaging 8.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

Although he’s not a great scorer (8.1 points), Chandler can bring a little scoring with spectacular finishes above the rim.
