The 2004 NBL MVP has had yet another strong year in Europe, claiming the Eurocup Final Four MVP as he led Valencia to the title.

Nielsen is the ultimate team player and brings size, skill and big stage experience to the Boomers group.

His scoring and passing ability adds potency to the Boomers attack while his leadership will be priceless on the international stage.

As the leader of a young team, his influence will be of paramount importance, as will be his ability to hit from mid-range and spread the defence.

One of his career highlights was winning gold at the 1997 FIBA U23 World Championship in Melbourne as a 19-year-old.

Nielsen also had a good tournament at the 2004 Olympic Games, averaging 12.7ppg and 4.7rpg, and demolishing Puerto Rico with 20 points and 7 rebounds during pool play.
