The call-up for Simas Jasaitis was a no-brainer for the Lithuanian national side coaches.
The player can handle both the shooting guard and small forward positions and can go into the post and play some minutes as a power forward despite being seen simply as a marksman by many.
A product of the Sarunas Marciulionis basketball school, Jasaitis was one of the brighter spots of last year’s hopeless performance in Poland and will be hoping to make an impact once again.
The player has announced that he is not staying with Galatasaray after a fairly successful season both in the Eurocup and the Turkish league.
Surprisingly, Jasaitis emerged as a very good rebounder with over 6 rebounds per game in Eurocup games and therefore his impact should be even bigger as the Lithuanian frontline seems to be weakened by various injuries.
