When Alain Koffi first arrived in Le Mans, nobody really knew what to think of him.

He was clearly a tremendous athlete but he lacked strong fundamentals.

He had poor timing and questionable hands, but he did show an amazing willingness to learn.

Year after year, Koffi turned from being just an athlete into a basketball player.

Alain was even voted MVP of the 2008-09 French League.

As his progress became more and more spectacular, his playing time improved.

In 2005-06, he showed he had become an authentic threat, both offensively and defensively.

After facing Le Mans in the ULEB Cup, Russian powerhouse Dynamo Moscow were so impressed by the way he handled Papadopoulos that they offered two million euros to get him.

Koffi and Le Mans refused and a few months later, they both were crowned French champions.

Last summer, Alain signed with Joventut Badalona, but he struggled there (only 5.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg) and has decided to return to Le Mans for next season.
