A late bloomer of sorts, McNaughton has had something of a breeakthrough year at the age of 27.

After being picked up by Gottingen from the third tier of Spanish basketball last summer, he played a pivotal role in their unexpected and unprecedented success last season.

Has a lot of skills inside and while he may not have the muscle of other players in the five spot, he does have some nice moves and will provide a usseful option for Bauermann off the bench.

Something of a confidence and momentum player, McNaughton is the type of big guy who can score and he underlined this when he exploded in the 2010 EuroChallenge Final when he was almost perfect in a magnificent perfrormance than won his team the trophy earlier this year.

A rookie at this level but has shown he is capable, has a great attitude and not afraid to throw it down – could definately be worth a gamble for Bauermann but even without Nowtizki or Kaman, might still be at the back of the queue.

Will play the 2010-11 season with EWE Baskets Oldenburg.
