A phenomenal shot-blocker and defensive talent, the Miami Heat center is literally one of the biggest reasons to believe Canada can spring a surprise or two in Turkey.

After another season fighting for court time in the NBA with Miami, there is unlikely to be anyone as desperate as Anthony in this competition to get out there.

His work ethic and shot blocking will be some of the main features of Canada’s games in Turkey.

Defensively, the center is excellent and adds some much needed muscle inside to compete with other big bodies in the tournament.

Offensively he won’t exactly explode but if Canada need to grind out results, they need Anthony to set the tone and make sure opponents have to really work to get buckets.

He loves defence and consequently if you are Coach Rautins you really, really love having him at your disposal – especially if alongside Heat team-mate Jamaal Magloire.
