The 2008-09 CBA season was an explosive one for Su Wei.
He played in 42 of 50 regular season games and in in the finals, used his strong body to defend Mengke Bateer and help the Guangdong Southern Tigers win the title.
Su was called up to the Chinese National Team for the first time in 2009 and played at the FIBA Asia Championship and in the Stakovic Cup.
He was a rower in his early days as an athlete.
In 2003, as he grew taller, Su changed his mind and switched to basketball with the coach of the Guangdong junior side selecting him to the team.
Since the beginning of his professional basketball career, Su has served as a faithful member in the Guangdong Southern Tigers.
He has won three CBA titles with the team.
Su's body is very strong and he played a great role at the defensive end although he will still be looking to improve his offensive skills.
