Last year, when Ivory Coast had to prepare for the FIBA Africa Championship without most of their players, Soumahoro had a lot of playing time and responsibilities.

But in Libya, he was still too inexperienced to really get involved.

His 2010 season with Strasbourg in France was equally frustrating.

He played a total of 14 league games, for a scoring record of 8 points against Pro A finalist Le Mans.

But, still, Coach Dessarzin sees a future in the skinny forward who can do a little bit of everything.

“What I like about him is that he is never shy of taking open shots.

He is never scared of anything and will answer immediately when offered responsibilities.”
