Edwin’s father, “Skeeter” Jackson, was one of the first naturalised players to wear a French national team jersey.
Sadly for Edwin, while Skeeter grew up to 2.05 meters, Edwin stopped his growth at only 1.91 m.
Fortunately, talent-wise, the genes were transmitted.
In Youth categories, Edwin won a European gold medal with the U18 (in 2006), a bronze in the 2007 U19 FIBA World Championship and a silver in the 2009 U20 EuroBasket last summer, while being the top scorer for his team (16.6 points per game).
A great shooter from almost anywhere, Jackson has made wise career decisions so far, spending one year in Pro B and one with a small Pro A club (Rouen) in search of enough playing time to develop.
After averaging 10.7 ppg in Rouen, he is now back in ASVEL, a French powerhouse, and hopes to play in the Euroleague next season, the same year he is supposed to enter the NBA draft.
