Freije enjoyed a superb FIBA Asia Championship last year scoring double-digits in eight of his nine games.
He was the best shooter on the team and there is now much debate about whether he would be even more effective in the small forward slot and playing the three.
Much of that is down to the shooting ability he has shown for both club and country and having to play in the forward spot could be wasting his excellent range – although he is able to create space by taking his man to the perimeter.
Additionally he is not the biggest physically to be battling with taller and stronger opponents in the paint at the FIBA World Championship.
It’s a puzzle that Coach Baldwin will have to solve although whether he plays the three or the four spot, expect Freije to be competing for the mantle of top Lebanese player in this tournament and definitely most accurate shooter – despite his relative inexperience on this World stage.
