As the naturalised player in the team, there is plenty of pressure on Jackson Vroman to deliver and so far at least, the man with the NBA pedigree has not disappointed.

He averaged a massive 17 points and eight rebounds per game last year in the FIBA Asia Championships to lead the team in both categories although despite this, a few eyebrows were raised by those who thought he was not buying into a team ethic.

A formidable figure in the key, Vroman has the power inside to really make a big difference to a team who on balance, generally have more to offer in the back-court.

With Vroman in the team, that changes immensely and he brings experience of both the top league in the world at club level and also the top league in Europe having played in the ACB. Not really a true center and can’t carry the load like he did last year at this World Championship level.

Will need support inside and needs to avoid foul trouble for Lebanon to progress.

He also needs to rebound better and make sure he kicks the ball out a lot more.
