Having been given only a handful of minutes at EuroBasket 2009, Pleiss has responded in fantastic style to remind Coach Bauermann just why he is rated as another top young prospect in German basketball.

Has just landed a play-off winners medal with Brose Baskets Bamberg and his contribution of 8 points and 6 rebounds in 18 minutes was hugely important across the season for the Championship winners.

Another jewel in the crown of a talent packed and young German frontcourt in years to come, Pleiss has shown great maturity at club level and will hopefully now have gained a real taste for success.

His mobility, smooth shot and rebounding capabilities are beginning to outshine his slender frame which sometimes sees him out-muscled on the court.

This tournament might have come a little too early to make any big impression but expect to see him oozing confidence after a breakthrough season – reflected  by the fact he has been drafted by the Nets.
