Tlatli likes to nickname Amine Rzig “the heart of the Tunisian National Team”.

A versatile player and amazing leader on court, he guided Tunisia to an unexpected bronze medal at the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship in Tripoli to secure a berth in the FIBA World Championship.

After 10 years in his home club of Stade Nabeulien and home town of Nabeul, he had the opportunity to play overseas in Egypt in 2009 for Talaa Jaiech (the Army club).

Averaging 21.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in the Playoff Round Robin, his team reached the top four for the first time in its history.

He came back home the next season at Stade Nabeulien to win his third national title.

Seriously injured in 2005 after the FIBA African Championship, he worked hard to come back, improving his shooting accuracy.

He adjusted his game to have more fouls drawn on him.

He steps up in big games, which is exactly what he did for the bronze medal game in Tripoli by finishing with 20 points and five assists while playing the full 40 minutes!

He scored 17 points or more in seven of the nine games in the tournament.

He has also recently added a three-point shot to his game, hitting 12 of 28 from long-range in Tripoli.

He was selected to the All-Star Team of the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship by the media.

At age 30, he will lead Tunisia in Turkey, not only as a big scorer but most of all as a captain with real pride.
